Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny to recruit a part-time Teaching Assistant for the Reception class, including pupils with ALN. You will help create a positive learning environment and support communication, engagement and activities.

The role is a part-time, long-term position starting ASAP, with a patient, nurturing approach and a focus on teamwork to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational settings.
• Experience supporting children with ALN.
• Experience supporting non-verbal children is desirable but not essential.
• Patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to individual needs.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny. The school is looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class and help create a positive learning environment for children with a range of additional learning needs.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a part-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful Teaching Assistant will support children within the Reception class, including pupils with ALN, helping with communication, engagement and learning activities, with experience supporting non-verbal children being ideal but not essential.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children within an educational or similar setting
• Experience supporting children with ALN
• Experience supporting non-verbal children is desirable but not essential
• A patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to adapt to the individual needs of children
