Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a part-time Speech and Language Therapy support role to deliver speech, language and communication programmes to deaf children and young people aged 0-25 across Cornwall. You will work with the Highly Specialist SLT and Sensory Support Team, planning engaging sessions and supporting staff and families.

Based in schools and family homes, you will manage your own diary, keep records in IT systems, and participate in supervision and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs and deafness.
• Ability to travel across the county and work independently.
• Good organisational skills to manage priorities across multiple locations.
• Confidence using IT systems and digital tools to support service delivery.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Excellent communication with a wide range of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech, language and communication programmes in schools and settings.
• Plan engaging therapy sessions under supervision.
• Create high-quality resources and support school staff and families.
• Keep timely and accurate records using the Council's IT systems.
• Communicate progress with the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
