Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work across schools and settings in Cornwall. The post focuses on developing support for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs, including delivering whole-setting training and providing specialist assessments.

The role requires HCPC registration, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Registered Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience delivering training and advisory support.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop support in settings for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
• Deliver whole setting accessible training and peer support; identify inclusive strategies and advise on implementation.
• Provide specialist assessments and intervention for a small caseload; undertake Education Health and Care Needs Assessments as required.
• Produce high quality written reports and participate in peer reviews for quality assurance.
• Develop close working relationships with NHS colleagues and Local Authority teams.
• Manage your own diary and work independently with children and young people at heart.
