Job summary

Children’s Hospice South West is seeking a Part-Time Shop Manager's Assistant in Shepton Mallet to support the shop Manager in running a busy charity shop. You will serve customers, handle cash, sort and display stock, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for volunteers and staff.

The role requires excellent communication, reliability and the ability to work flexibly including Sundays. The shop operates seven days a week and offers a supportive team and meaningful community impact.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience of working in retail or a customer service position.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and handle cash following procedures.
• Sort and display stock to attract customers.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Plan, prioritise and delegate workload of volunteers.
• Support the manager in fostering a positive working culture.
