Job summary

Children's Hospice South West is seeking a Retail Assistant for its Wadebridge Shop on a part-time, permanent basis. You will serve customers, sort and display stock, handle cash and follow health and safety procedures as part of a busy team.

The role involves coordinating volunteers, supporting the manager, and contributing to a positive shop environment. The shop operates seven days a week with shifts on a rota basis, and the organization offers a supportive, community-focused workspace with

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Organised and able to manage time effectively.
• Experience of working in retail or a customer service position.
• Ability to work as part of a team, and alone using your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• You will be serving customers, sorting and displaying stock, handling cash and following health and safety procedures.
• Volunteers are essential to our success and you will have the opportunity to plan, prioritise and delegate their workload.
• You will assist the manager in encouraging a positive working culture and help to create a happy working environment.
• Our shop operates 7 days a week and you will cover a variety of shifts on a rotational basis.
