Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council Careers is seeking two part-time cleaners at Duncanrig High School in East Kilbride. Post 1 and Post 2 are 15 hours per week on a term-time basis, with shifts from 6am to 9am and from 3:30pm to 6:30pm (with additional Tue/Thu 4pm–7pm). The role pays £13.80 per hour.

Applicants will carry out cleaning duties on floors and fittings, report to the Cleaning Supervisor, and ensure security and compliance with COSHH. Two permanent posts available.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning of floors, furniture, sanitary areas, walls and fixtures.
• Report to the Cleaning Supervisor.
• To undertake practical tasks such as using a buffing machine to clean floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc in line with pre-determined schedule.
• To ensure the security of the building is maintained, and act as a key-holder as required.
• Monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulations, reporting any difficult issues to management.
• Remove refuse and deal with waste ensuring appropriate disposal.
