Job summary

Compass Group UK&I’s Chartwells is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all catering and service operations on a part-time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week across educational venues. The role requires hands-on leadership and a passion for exceptional food and service.

You will manage kitchens and service counters, monitor KPIs, inventories and budgets, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety compliance and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years catering experience.
• Experience managing teams in a catering setting.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious food to high standards.
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable service.
• Oversee in-unit catering operations including inventories and budgets.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and uphold brand image.
• Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Train and support teams to excel in their roles.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards.
