Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, Chartwells, is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all catering and service operations for Chartwells on a part-time basis (30 hours per week), contracted to 44.5 weeks per year. The role focuses on delivering exceptional food and customer service across in-unit kitchens and service counters.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years catering experience.
• Experience managing teams in a similar role.
• Hold NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be ambitious and motivated to upskill.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious food to the highest standards.
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable service.
• Oversee in-unit catering operations, inventories and budgets.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image.
• Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Liaise between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Train and support teams to excel in their roles.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards across teams.
