Job summary

The Northolme Practice is seeking a flexible Practice Nurse to cover two sites in Halifax, 16–20 hours per week on compressed hours, mainly Wednesdays and Thursdays. The role focuses on cervical screening, contraception, immunisations, wound care, and general treatment room duties.

The post holder will supervise and direct healthcare assistants and nursing associate across both sites; current NMC registration and GP practice experience are essential, with training for those new to general

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or equivalent
• Current NMC registration
• Experience in General Practice or willingness to train

Responsibilities

• Cervical cytology screening and contraception
• Immunisations including childhood, travel and Covid vaccines
• Treatment room duties
• Wound care and wound management
• ECG and blood pressure checks
• Directing and supporting junior nursing staff (HCAs and nursing associate)
• Ensure current evidence-based approaches are standard practice
