Job summary

The Sheffield College is seeking a Personal Tutor on a part-time, term-time basis (29.6 hours over 40 weeks) to support students through one-to-one guidance, attendance, and pastoral care. This temporary maternity cover runs until May 2027, with a pro-rata salary reflecting hours and weeks worked.

Qualifications

• Experience in student support and pastoral interventions.
• Ability to track and record student progress using college systems.
• Experience supporting UCAS applications or progression planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and record interview, enrolment and induction activities as directed by Head of Student Experience.
• Record late inductions on college systems and monitor starts.
• Record starter qualifications and diagnostic assessments to support progress.
• Set and monitor target grades with allocated students and coordinate with curriculum teams.
• Conduct 1:1s and pastoral interventions to mitigate risks and support progression.
• Signpost students to careers guidance and referral to internal transfers as needed.
