Job summary

Knowsley Community College in St Helens is seeking a Personal Development Tutor to provide pastoral support to a caseload of students. You will work with teachers, parents and other stakeholders to support students’ personal development and monitor progress, attendance and next steps. The role also includes tutorials and signposting to college services.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral support or student welfare
• Ability to work with staff, parents and external partners
• Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to a caseload of students
• Develop partnerships with subject teachers, parents/carers and other stakeholders
• Monitor students' performance, attendance and progress and plan next steps
• Undertake group and one-to-one tutorials to review progress and signpost services available through the College

The role of Personal Development Tutor is to provide pastoral support to a caseload of students. A Personal Development Tutor will develop effective working partnerships with subject teachers, parents/carers and other stakeholders to support students on their personal development journey with the College. A Personal Development Tutor will monitor students’ overall performance in college, including progress, attendance planning for next steps and overall personal development. The role will undertake a programme of group and one to one tutorials with each student to review their progress against targets, this includes signposting students, and supporting them to access, the wider range of services and support available through the College.
