Job summary

Asda Blyth seeks a qualified Optometrist to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (24 hours per week). You will work days, providing eye care services within our NHS-aligned framework and supporting service expansion.

You will screen patients, coach colleagues, and help develop new patient services while maintaining high standards of care. Asda funds CPD and accreditation to help you grow professionally within a supportive retail health environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered performer with NHS area team or health board MECs/WECs (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months, funded by Asda).
• On track to meet CPD points requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients and conduct eye checks.
• Coach and train the wider team and maintain department standards.
• Develop new patient services to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with Optical Manager to balance clinical and operational excellence.
