Job summary

Asda Opticians is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our team in Portlethen. You will conduct eye examinations, manage contact lens and extended service exams, and work with the Dispen sing Optician Manager to train colleagues and uphold high departmental standards.

We support NHS extended services, encourage CPD, and offer funded accreditation opportunities. The role includes a strong focus on patient care, service excellence, and developing new eye care offerings within-store.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
• Registered as NHS performer with your area team or health board.
• MECS or WECs accreditation (or willingness to gain within 12 months, funded by Asda).
• On track to meet CPD points requirement.
• Able to use skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience.
• Interested in developing new patient services and shaping department culture.

Responsibilities

• Complete eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations.
• Support the Dispensing Optician Manager with training and coaching.
• Maintain departmental standards and service quality.
