Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Customer Services Operator for the Southend Site. The role is part-time, comprising two 22.5-hour posts, in a fast-paced switchboard team that manages a wide range of queries and urgent calls.

You will work under the Head of Customer Services and a supervisor within a 4-week, 365/24/7 rota, including weekends and public holidays. Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills are essential, with a courteous, calm approach at all times.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service ability.
• Basic IT skills; knowledge of patient administration systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle varied queries and urgent/emergency calls.
• Provide courteous, high-quality customer service.
• Operate across sites with a 4-week 365/24/7 rota.
