Job summary

The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford is seeking a Visitor Experience Assistant to deliver a warm, inclusive and world-class visitor experience, engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds and helping them to make the most of their visit.

You will work as part of a dynamic team on a daily rota, welcoming and inspiring visitors, engaging them with the collections and activities, and helping to keep visitors and collections safe.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a busy setting.
• Confident team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proactive problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
• Passion for museums and cultural venues; health, safety and security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage visitors in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Engage audiences with the Ashmolean’s collections and activities.
• Support donations, Gift Aid and memberships to aid financial sustainability.
• Assist with safety and security for people and collections; participate in Tuesday training.
