Job summary

HC-One is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support meal prep and service in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. The role emphasizes kindness, dignity, and resident-focused care.

You will work a 3 on 3 off rotation with a 19.25 hour weekly schedule, gaining meaningful experience in a compassionate healthcare setting. We value candidates with kitchen experience and a willingness to progress toward NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience preferred and a real passion for helping others.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect, in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Show new team members how to use kitchen equipment safely.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
