Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene and support safe operations, while demonstrating kindness to Residents and colleagues.

The role requires some kitchen experience and an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it. You will benefit from extensive training, career development, and a range of staff benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong organisational skills and keen eye for detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Patience, respect and genuine kindness when interacting with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals warmly and promptly.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Demonstrate safe use of kitchen equipment to new team members.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
