Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a 30-hour role in our care homes, delivering nutritious meals with kindness and dignity to Residents. You will assist with food prep, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen while recording storage temperatures and supporting stock rotation.

We value patience, respect, and a genuine passion for helping others. NVQ2 Catering or willingness to work towards it is preferred, with safeguarding training and clear career development

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Patient, respectful and kind when interacting with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Assist with stock rotation and proper storage.
• Train new team members on safe kitchen equipment use.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
