Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant for 20 hours per week in our care home. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals while keeping residents' health and dignity at the center of everything you do.

With some kitchen experience and a willingness to work toward NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, you will follow recipes, monitor hygiene, support stock, and help new team members. We value kindness, respect, and teamwork every day.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is desirable and a real passion for helping others.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Patient, respectful and kind when interacting with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serving meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitoring and recording food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.).
• Supporting stock rotation and ensuring ingredients are properly stored.
• Showing new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
