Job summary

HC-One Windsor Court is hiring a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Working 19.25 hours per week on a 3 on/3 off rotation, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals and maintain kitchen hygiene.

You should have some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or be willing to work towards it. The role emphasizes kindness, patience, and teamwork, with full training and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.).
• Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, even after busy lunch rush.
