Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a part-time role (24 hours per week) in our care homes. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, keeping residents’ dietary needs in mind and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen environment. A willingness to work towards NVQ2 is required, with attention to detail and a caring approach.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience; willing to work towards NVQ2.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Show kindness, patience and respect with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under supervision.
• Serve meals in a warm, respectful manner.
• Keep kitchen clean and hygienic; monitor storage temps.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Help new team members learn safety and equipment use.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless during busy periods.
