Co-op Group is hiring for a funeral service crew member in Purley, offering a part-time role with 18.75 hours per week. The position includes on-call rota evenings and weekends, and requires a full UK manual driving licence. Training is provided, and benefits include competitive salary, pension, and staff discounts.

Responsibilities include transporting the deceased, preparing coffins, and maintaining equipment, while ensuring professionalism, dignity and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Calm, compassionate approach to customers in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Collect the deceased from locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications daily and keep records updated.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following safety guidance.
