Job summary

Apex City of Glasgow Hotel in Glasgow is seeking a Casual Duty Manager. You will be present in the lobby during peak times, support the reception team, and ensure a warm welcome for guests while maintaining high standards of service.

This role involves leading the front office team, handling guest feedback, coordinating VIP arrivals, and upholding safety and security procedures. The position is casual, part-time, at £14 per hour with a closing date of 01 December 2026.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and guest handling skills.
• Experience in hotel front office or supervisory roles is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain high standards of service.

Responsibilities

• Be present in lobby and reception during peak times to support the team.
• Promote selling culture amongst the FO team and review results.
• Lead reception team and porters to deliver exceptional arrival and departure experiences.
• Monitor and maintain a safe, secure working environment for staff and guests.
• Address guest feedback and ensure follow-up on reviews and guest profiles.
• Ensure pre- and post-stay communications are sent to guests.
• Maintain records and communications for traceability.
• Coach and model strong performance for the team.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping for daily operations and VIP arrivals.
