Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon seeks a part-time Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to deliver a community SLT service to children and young people. Based in Honiton, you will work within the East and Mid SLT Team across clinic and education settings, supported by a collaborative network of professionals.

You will join a strong team, receive regular supervision, and have access to training and development opportunities to support your career growth in a busy community service.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community/education settings.
• Broad knowledge of assessment tools for children.
• Knowledge of therapeutic interventions for speech and language disorders in children.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of children and young people in the Exeter area with developmental speech, language and communication disorders, with support as needed.
• Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment of speech, language and communication disorders.
• Offer appropriate interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Advise parents, carers, early years and school staff on communication needs.
• Set up and monitor therapy programmes for other key workers.
• Write reports reflecting specialist knowledge.

Education

Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent

Health Professions Council Licence to Practice

Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups
