Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon is recruiting four 1.0 wte Speech and Language Therapists to provide specialist SLT support within the Experts at Hand service across Exeter and Devon communities. The post holders will work in a multidisciplinary team, delivering consultation, training and targeted interventions to children and families.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community / education settings.
• Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to working with children.
• Well established knowledge of a broad range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to treat children.
• Understanding of the principles of clinical governance / audit.
• Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group).
• Knowledge of standards of record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist speech and language therapy support within Experts at Hand through advice, consultation, modelling of strategies, training and targeted intervention.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously to support children, young people, families and professionals.
• Deliver training and capacity-building across early years, school and post-16 settings.
• Offer time-limited direct interventions where indicated.
