Job summary

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a Part-Time CCTV Officer to join the Community Safety team in the CCTV Control Room. You will monitor over 300 cameras across public spaces, Council buildings and partner locations, supporting crime prevention and public safety.

Key responsibilities include real-time monitoring, incident response, maintaining records, and providing footage to police and authorised agencies.

• Good IT skills and accurate record-keeping.
• Understanding of data protection and evidential procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the CCTV system to identify incidents and respond accordingly.
• Proactively surveil public spaces and monitored locations.
• Support police with live incidents and evidential footage.
• Collaborate with council services to ensure effective service delivery.
• Assist with requests for CCTV footage from authorised agencies.
• Provide real-time monitoring and support during emergencies and events.
• Maintain logs and incident reports in line with policies.
