Job summary

Gedling Borough Council seeks a CCTV Control Room Operator to monitor the CCTV network and support community safety from our Nottingham-based facility. You will detect and deter crime, liaise with local businesses, police and council staff, and maintain a high standard of situational awareness.

You will work shifts varying in length from 6 to 10 hours, up to 37 hours per week, including days, evenings and occasional nights.

Qualifications

• Must have CCTV Operator qualification or equivalent experience.
• Will complete Basic DBS check and NPPV as part of recruitment.
• Psychometric testing may be used to assess fit for the role.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Council’s CCTV cameras from the control room.
• Communicate with local businesses, police and colleagues by radio and phone.
• Demonstrate strong observational awareness and maintain calm, patient conduct.
• Work shifts up to 37 hours per week, including days, evenings and nights.
