Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a part-time support worker to join its Care & Support service, delivering hands-on care in line with individual plans within supported housing, extra care, and the local community.

You will help people live independently with dignity and inclusion, working evenings or weekends, and participating in sleep-ins or on-call rotas. Full training is provided and an enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Commitment to dignity, choice and inclusion in care.
• Willingness to undertake training and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support in line with individual care plans.
• Help people live as independently as possible, promoting dignity, choice and inclusion.
• Deliver care across supported housing schemes, extra care services and in the local community.
• Work evenings and weekends where required.
• Undertake sleep-in duties or take part in an on-call rota.
• Carry out moving and handling tasks.
• Respond calmly in emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
