Job summary

Southern Housing seeks a dedicated Support Worker to deliver care under personalised care plans for adults on the 16+ homeless pathway. The role is physically demanding, involving moving and handling, with on-call duties and potential sleep-ins. DBS enhanced checks are required, and prior experience is not essential.

You will work across housing schemes, supporting wellbeing and independence while maintaining safeguarding and accurate records. Full training is provided.

Qualifications

• GCSEs required, including Maths and English.
• Candidates should be able to follow individual care plans and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support in line with individual care plans.
• Help people live independently with dignity, choice and inclusion.
• Support wellbeing, safety and daily living.
• Work across supported housing schemes, extra care and community.
• Carry out moving and handling tasks.
• Respond calmly in emergencies.
• Work evenings and weekends as required.
• Undertake sleep-in duties or be on-call rota.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
