Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a caring Support Worker on a part-time basis to provide person-centred support to residents across our housing schemes, extra care services and community settings on the Isle of Wight.

You will follow individual care plans, promote independence, dignity and inclusion, and work as part of a supportive team. The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and occasional sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
• Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent)
• No previous experience is required - full training and support will be provided.
• Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support in line with individual care plans, helping people live independently with dignity and inclusion
• Work as part of a supportive team delivering care across housing schemes, extra care services and within the local community
• Be flexible for evenings and weekends, sleep-in duties and on-call rotas; handle moving and handling tasks safely
• Maintain accurate records and reports with basic IT skills
