Job summary

Harbour Healthcare are seeking a Maintenance Officer for Seaton Carew to maintain the care centre’s fabric, services and grounds. The role includes on-call duties for emergencies and requires basic handyperson skills plus health & safety training.

The position is part time (0.5 hours per week) and based at Warrior Park Care Home. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable to support maintenance tasks and occasional off-site errands.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge e.g. minor electrical/plumbing/joinery.
• Good communication skills.
• Confident team player.
• Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to receive training on Health & Safety / EHO issues.
• Satisfactory Police check and POVA List where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ALL legal documentation is completed on time.
• Report defects to appliances, furniture or equipment to the Home Manager.
• Maintain exterior grounds and ensure safe access routes.
• Test fire alarm system weekly and log results.
• Maintain a maintenance book and record faults for repairs.
• Assist deliveries and monitor goods at the Care Centre.
