Job summary

St Mary's Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative for St Marys Riverside, Hessle. The role is permanent, part-time (16 hours) with a view to permanency, and Not sponsorship available. The job focuses on maintaining the home, handling safety checks, and assisting with deliveries and contractors to support residents.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a care setting preferred.
• Willingness to be on-call for emergencies.
• Able to perform general maintenance tasks and basic repairs.

Responsibilities

• Report and action defects to appliances and damaged items to Home Manager.
• Maintain exterior areas: sheds, drive, paths, waste areas and cleanliness.
• Carry out decoration touch-ups to maintain high standards.
• Complete weekly planned maintenance, including fire alarm tests and log results.
• Test portable appliances and water temperatures per procedures.
• Log defects in the Maintenance Book and coordinate with Helpdesk.
• Assist deliveries and Contractors onsite.
