Job summary

Nellsar's Meyer House Care Home in Erith is seeking a Maintenance/Handyperson to join our supportive team, responsible for routine repairs and monitoring of building systems under the Home Manager's direction.

You will work independently and with the maintenance team, prioritising urgent tasks, ensuring safety, and liaising with contractors as needed. 40 hours weekly with some weekend work; driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Current and clean driving licence is required.
• Access to own vehicle is preferred.
• 40 hours per week, including weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine repairs and monitor all systems in the care home.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance and prioritise urgent work.
• Ensure hazards are removed and equipment is kept in full working order.
• Check and tag electrical appliances brought into the home for safety.
• Liaise with contractors for work outside the in-house team expertise.
• Support the Home Manager and Head of Maintenance in daily operations.
