Job summary

Harbour Healthcare is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant for Granby Rose Care Home, Highgate Park, Harrogate. The role involves day-to-day fabric maintenance, safety checks and emergency on-call duties. You will ensure legal documents are completed and maintain the Care Centre in a safe, functional state.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, paying £13 per hour. On-site responsibilities include gardening, asset upkeep, fire safety tests and liaison with the Home Manager.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge / experience.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Clean driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to receive training on Health & Safety / EHO issues.
• Satisfactory Police check and POVA List where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ALL legal documentation is completed on time.
• Report defects to appliances, furniture, equipment and hazards to the Home Manager.
• Maintain exterior areas and grounds to a high standard.
• Test fire alarm system weekly and log results.
• Maintain a Maintenance Book and record daily repairs.
• Assist deliveries to the Care Centre and monitor goods.
