Job summary

HC-One Limited is seeking a part-time Assistant Chef in a care home setting. You will cook and serve nutritious meals for Residents, support the First Chef, and assist with stock and budgeting while ensuring high standards and resident wellbeing.

You will follow recipes precisely, maintain cleanliness, and participate in safeguarding and training sessions as required. A positive, kind approach to residents and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good understanding of HACCP and safe food handling.
• Able to follow recipes accurately and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and patient manner with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious meals for Residents.
• Provide support to the First Chef when needed.
• Manage food stock and help with budgeting.
• Coach colleagues and oversee kitchen cleanup.
• Participate in safeguarding training and report concerns.
