Job summary

HC-One is seeking an Assistant Chef for a part-time role at one of our care homes. You will cook and serve nutritious meals, support the First Chef, manage stock, and help maintain kitchen standards with a focus on resident wellbeing.

A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is required, along with a positive, team-oriented approach. You will work 18 hours per week, with safeguarding responsibilities and opportunities for professional development within HC-One.

Qualifications

• Part-time role requiring 18 hours weekly.
• Must hold Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and present food attractively.
• Strong communication and team-friendly attitude.
• Safeguarding awareness and resident wellbeing mindset.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious meals for residents.
• Provide support to the First Chef and take charge in their absence.
• Manage kitchen stock and monitor food budget.
• Coach a colleague and supervise kitchen cleanup.
• Prioritise resident wellbeing in all actions.
