Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to deliver nutritious meals with kindness across its dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist care homes. You will assist with meal prep, serve meals warmly, and maintain kitchen hygiene while following recipes and recording information accurately.

Safeguarding training is required; eligibility to work in the UK is essential. The role offers full training and opportunities for career progression within HC-One, with a strong emphasis on resident

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience required.
• NVQ2 or willingness to work towards it.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Safeguarding training is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.).
• Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless—even after a busy lunch rush.
