Job summary

Senploy is seeking a part-time 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a pupil with additional needs in a Didcot-area primary school. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor strategies and build the pupil’s confidence and independence.

The role focuses on breaking tasks into manageable steps, using visual or multisensory resources, and targeted interventions while monitoring progress and recording outcomes. Previous SEND experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND is advantageous.
• Qualified in SEND or related education would be beneficial.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a pupil.

Responsibilities

• Providing focused 1:1 support during lessons and activities
• Helping the pupil access an adapted curriculum
• Delivering interventions agreed with teaching staff
• Adjusting resources and activities to suit individual needs
• Supporting communication, interaction and emotional wellbeing
• Using positive and consistent behaviour strategies
• Promoting independence wherever appropriate
• Observing and recording progress
• Sharing useful feedback with the teacher and SENCO
• Working with other professionals involved in the child's support where required
