Job summary

Senploy is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a Didcot-area primary school.

This part-time role focuses on consistent, patient, and tailored assistance to help the child access learning, build confidence and participate more independently in school life. Collaboration with teachers and the SENCO is essential to deliver effective support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
• Ability to tailor 1:1 support to individual needs using appropriate strategies.
• Patience, empathy and calm under pressure.
• Strong communication with teachers, SENCO and parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support during classroom learning.
• Break tasks into manageable steps and adapt resources for accessibility.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support progress.
• Observe, record progress and share feedback with teachers.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and other professionals when required.
• Support transitions and routines to promote independence.
• Encourage participation and build pupil confidence.
• Contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
