Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is seeking dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants to provide personalised support to pupils with special educational needs across a variety of school settings. Roles are full-time or part-time, starting as soon as possible.

You will work one-to-one with pupils, adapt lessons, support social and academic development, and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement IEP strategies. A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual requirements.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
• Implement strategies outlined in individual education plans (IEPs).
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
