Job summary

Parcelforce Worldwide in Birmingham is seeking a part-time Parcel Operative to unload, load and sort parcels, ensuring correct delivery routes and trailer readiness. You’ll deliver a friendly, dependable service and work as part of a team to support daily operations.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence (Cat B up to 3.5t) with up to 6 points, good attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 30kg. Weekend shifts and overtime are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (Cat B up to 3.5t) registered to your address with no more than 6 points.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling parcels.
• Ability to lift and carry parcels up to 30kg.
• Friendly, dependable, customer focused with a positive attitude.
• Reliable team player capable of working independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Unloading / Loading parcels.
• Sorting parcels to correct delivery route and preparing trailers.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 16 [[zworkinghours and days]], with opportunities for overtime. Typical attendance is Friday 11:00 PM to Saturday 7:00 AM and Sunday 11:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM

Location: Parcelforce Worldwide Birmingham, Holford Industrial Estate, B6 7BB

Why this role pays off:

• Starting salary: £25,201 per year, £12.71 per hour
• After 6 months: £27,561 per year, £13.94 per hour
• Opportunity to earn up to £30,000 per year, (based on a 38 hour week & overtime)
• Saturday & Sunday Weekend Premium +£4.39 (Saturdays) & +£6.58 (Sundays) applied to contracted hours
• Paid weekday and weekend overtime
• Additional Allowances:-
• Monthly Non Pensionable Addition to Pay (£903.84 per year)
• Night Duty Allowance (+£2.74 per hour, applicable on hours worked between 20:00 and 06:00)

• Unloading / Loading parcels
• Sorting parcels to correct delivery route / preparing trailer ready for the drivers / onward transport
• Providing a friendly, dependable service — whether it’s a birthday gift or important business mail

• A full manual UK driving licence (Cat B up to 3.5t) registered to your current address, with no more than 6 points
