Job summary

IBIS London City Shoreditch and IBIS Budget Whitechapel are seeking a motivated painter/decorator to maintain guest areas, fixtures and décor to high standards in our central London hotels.

You will prepare surfaces, apply finishes, and assist with cleaning and rearranging spaces while upholding hotel safety rules and providing excellent guest service. Experience in painting is preferred and flexibility to work on site is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating is preferable.
• Knowledge about security regulations is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surrounding area, cover fixtures and furniture to prevent messes.
• Prepare painting surfaces, remove old paint, fill holes and cracks, wash walls.
• Apply paint, varnish and other finishes; hang wallpapers and decorative products.
• Clean painting tools and replace fixtures; rearrange furniture after work.
• Inspect premises and equipment; handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Contribute to guest comfort and proactively handle tasks and requests.
• Keep daily log of repairs and maintenance of assets and equipment.
• Apply hotel security regulations in case of emergencies.

Job Description

• Preparing the surrounding area, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes
• Preparing painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls
• Applying paint, varnishing and other finishes, hanging wallpapers and other decorative products
• Cleaning up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project
• Conduct routine inspection of premises and equipment and handle basic repairs and maintenance requirements.
• Actively seek to contribute to the comfort of guests and visitors
• Remain proactive and approach tasks and requests with a can-do-attitude
• Assist in record keeping and keep daily log of repairs and maintenance of assets and equipment
• Apply the Hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
