Job summary

IBIS London City Shoreditch is seeking a kitchen team member to support food preparation and service in a busy hotel environment. This role involves handling basic cooking tasks, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety and portion controls.

You will contribute to a smooth operation across shifts, with opportunities for growth within AccorInvest UK, including apprenticeships and training through the Accor Academy.

Qualifications

• Comfortable doing both Early Morning and evening shifts.
• Flexible to work 5 days between Monday- Sunday.
• Knowledge in Culinary department is preferred.
• Should be able to multi-task.
• Team Work.
• Time Keeping.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic cooking methods: cutting ingredients, grilling, frying and preparing dishes as per standard recipes.
• Upkeep of cleanliness standards.
• Prepare food items per standard recipe cards while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
• Apply HACCP and hotel food safety hygiene standards.
• Clean and maintain all equipment in the food production area with attention to cross-contamination.
• Versatile in the kitchen, supporting both culinary and kitchen porter duties.
• Be versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
• Attend briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
• Service oriented with an eye for details.
• Able to work in a team as well as independently.

Job Description

You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position and be in possession of a current work visa. In line with the requirements set by the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of the eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.

Contract - Full Time 169 hours/month

• Prior experience in basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients, grilling, frying and preparing various dishes.
• Upkeeping cleanliness standards.
• Prepare food items as per standard recipe cardswhilst maintaining portion control and minimizing wastage
• Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
• Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area. Focus on Cross contamination.
• Versatile in the kitchen, with experience supporting both culinary and kitchen porterduties.

Other Responsibilities

• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedure.
• Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management.
• Service oriented with an eye for details.
• Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team as well as work independently.
