Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is recruiting an experienced Painter & Decorator to join the Property Care team of a well-established social housing organisation. You will deliver internal and external painting and decorating across occupied and void properties, maintaining high quality and customer service.

The role involves surface preparation, applying finishes, completing records, and working with tenants and other trades while adhering to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating or equivalent
• Experience in social housing, property maintenance, repairs or refurbishment
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary maintenance team

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting and decorating.
• Complete surface preparation including sanding, filling, priming and repairing damaged surfaces.
• Apply a range of finishes including emulsion, gloss, undercoat and specialist coatings.
• Undertake mould treatment, stain blocking and associated remedial decorating works.
• Work on timber, metal and masonry surfaces.
• Carry out minor repair and maintenance works associated with decorating tasks.
• Support the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and void property refurbishments.
• Work alongside other trades to achieve efficient property turnaround times.
• Order and manage materials effectively.
• Complete job records and documentation accurately using company systems.
• Conduct customer satisfaction checks and maintain excellent tenant relationships.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Carry out vehicle, equipment and PPE checks.

What you’ll need to succeed

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Experience working within social housing, property maintenance, repairs or refurbishment environments.
• Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
