Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a busy housing maintenance team in Redditch. The role focuses on decorating void properties and preparing homes for new tenants, with occasional work in occupied properties.

This is a full-time on-site position in a housing maintenance environment. The ideal candidate will have proven domestic decorating experience, surface-prep skills, wallpapering ability, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator within domestic properties.
• Experience preparing surfaces and delivering high-quality decorating finishes.
• Competent in wallpaper hanging and papering.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating works within void residential properties.
• Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding, stripping and making good prior to decoration.
• Paint walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, skirting boards and other internal surfaces.
• Hang wallpaper and carry out papering works when required.
• Remove old wallpaper and prepare surfaces for redecoration.
• Complete decorating work to a high standard within agreed timescales.
• Undertake occasional decorating works within occupied properties while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Accurately complete any required job sheets or paperwork.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Pay Rate: £16.62 per hour PAYE
Vehicle: Company vehicle provided (work use only)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a busy housing maintenance team working across domestic properties in Redditch. The role is primarily focused on decorating void properties, ensuring homes are refurbished to a high standard and ready for new tenants. There will also be occasional decorating work within occupied (tenanted) properties.
