Job summary

Torus Group is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to support cyclical projects across Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington. The role is mobile, requiring flexibility to work across multiple locations and with teams to deliver high-quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates will have a time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating, a CSCS card and a full UK driving licence. You will contribute to servicing and maintenance activity, ensuring safe, efficient delivery and

  • Min NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating or a related discipline.
  • CSCS card at the appropriate level.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Strong experience in painting and decorating, building maintenance and construction activities.
  • Experience of associated trade activities and multi-skilled working.
  • Good customer care skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible approach to varied duties and changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all types of painting and decorating work, internally and externally, including paper hanging and artexing.
  • Plan and organise work efficiently with materials, transport and equipment.
  • Operate IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders and communicate with colleagues.
  • Supervise and support apprentices, trainees and other employees.
  • Carry out diagnostic and pre-measuring work to scope tasks accurately.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and maintain stock, tools and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and uphold high standards of customer care.
  • Carry out a range of painting and decorating works across communal and external areas and internal redecoration projects.
  • Travel between sites as part of daily duties; transport arrangements provided where necessary.

Painter and Decorator - Cyclical Projects

Do you have excellent painting and decorating skills, a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship, and the ability to

provide great customer service? We're looking for a Painter & Decorator to join our team and support the delivery of first-class

construction and maintenance services across Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington. This is a mobile role, requiring flexibility to

work across multiple locations in line with business needs.

What you'll be doing:
  • Carry out all types of painting and decorating work, both internally and externally, including paper hanging, artexing and
  • Plan and organise work in an economical and effective manner, making best use of time, materials, transport and equipment.
  • Operate within scheduled appointment systems, liaising with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
  • Supervise and support apprentices, trainees and other employees as required.
  • Carry out diagnostic and pre-measuring work to scope and complete tasks accurately.
  • Use IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders, communicate with colleagues and order materials.
  • Make informed decisions regarding repair requirements, explaining clearly to customers when follow-up work is needed and
  • arranging next steps.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and contribute to ongoing competency and development programmes.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and maintain stock, tools and equipment to required standards.
  • Manage materials effectively, minimising waste and ensuring appropriate specifications are used.
  • Work collaboratively with Schedulers, Planners, CLOs and other teams to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and uphold high standards of customer care, quality and performance.
  • Participate in training, development and continuous improvement activities to support service excellence.
  • Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required by your line manager.
  • Carrying out a range of painting and decorating works across communal and external areas, along with internal redecoration projects.
  • Undertaking preparation and finishing tasks to a high standard, with limited wallpapering requirements.
  • Working safely at height using ladders and other approved access equipment, in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborating with colleagues on planned maintenance and improvement works, often working in pairs where required.
  • Travelling between sites as part of your daily duties, with transport arrangements provided where necessary.
