Job summary

Auto Skills UK is looking for a Multiskilled Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician in Amersham, offering an OTE of £52,000 and a base salary of £40,000 - £47,000 DOE. Overtime on Saturdays is available, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm pattern.

You will work in a professional accident repair environment, applying refinishing expertise and applying your additional bodyshop skills as needed to support across panels and fittings. A driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Paint Sprayer or Paint Technician in a professional Bodyshop.
• Qualification in Vehicle Refinishing (NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds/ATA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of modern paint systems, colour matching, blending and refinishing techniques.
• Panel Beating skills would be advantageous.
• Strip & Fit experience with non-MET components would be advantageous.
• Attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing (sanding, filling, masking, priming).
• Mix and apply paint using appropriate spray equipment and refinishing techniques.
• Colour match, blend and refinishing to a high-quality finish.
• Inspect paintwork and rectify imperfections as needed.
• Support Panel Beating or Strip & Fit where applicable.
• Work with Panel Beaters, MET Technicians and colleagues to maintain efficient repair flow.
• Complete allocated repairs within agreed timescales with excellent workmanship.

THE ROLE

As a Multiskilled Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing and refinishing accident-damaged vehicles while also using your additional Bodyshop skills where required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
• Mixing and applying paint using appropriate spray equipment and refinishing techniques.
• Carrying out colour matching, blending, and refinishing work to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Inspecting completed paintwork and rectifying imperfections where required.
• Supporting Panel Beating or Strip & Fit activities where your additional skills are applicable.
• Working closely with Panel Beaters, MET Technicians, and other Bodyshop colleagues to maintain an efficient repair process.
• Completing allocated repairs within agreed timescales while maintaining excellent workmanship.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit an experienced Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician / Multiskilled Paint Technician / Vehicle Paint Technician with strong refinishing skills and additional Bodyshop experience.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer or Paint Technician within a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Recognised qualification in Vehicle Refinishing (NVQ / IMI / City & Guilds / ATA or equivalent), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle paint systems, colour matching, blending, and refinishing techniques.
• Panel Beating skills would be advantageous.
• Strip & Fit experience, particularly non-MET components, would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively across different areas of a busy Bodyshop.
• A full UK driving licence.
