Job summary

AutoSkills UK is seeking an Experienced Paint Sprayer in Chesterfield to refinishes accident-damaged vehicles to high standards. The role emphasizes working with a skilled team in a modern bodyshop and progressing your career through ongoing training.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, a 40-hour week, and a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience, with no weekend work. A full UK driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Paint Sprayer within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques.
• Experience with colour matching, blending and full/partial vehicle resprays.
• Strong preparation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and panels for paint, including sanding, masking, priming and preparation.
• Mix and apply modern automotive paint systems to required specifications.
• Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching and blending.
• Complete polishing and finishing work to a high-quality factory-style finish.
• Inspect completed repairs and rectify any imperfections.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for refinishing accident-damaged vehicles to a consistently high standard, ensuring repairs meet manufacturer specifications and professional bodyshop quality standards. You'll work closely with the wider accident repair team to achieve efficient vehicle throughput and exceptional finished results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicles and panels for paint, including sanding, masking, priming and preparation
• Mix and apply modern automotive paint systems to the required specifications
• Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching and blending
• Complete polishing and finishing work to achieve a high-quality factory-style finish
• Inspect completed repairs and rectify any imperfections where required
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians and Workshop Controllers
• Maintain spray equipment, tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, quality standards and Health & Safety procedures

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and quality-focused Paint Sprayer who takes pride in producing exceptional finishes and consistently delivering first-class workmanship.

• Proven experience as a Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician or Automotive Paint Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques
• Experience with colour matching, blending and full/partial vehicle resprays
• Strong preparation skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
• Comfortable working to deadlines, production targets and agreed repair times
• Strong team player with a professional and positive attitude
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous but not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
