Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Painter for our Nottingham bodyshop, offering a competitive salary up to £45,000 dependent on experience. The role focuses on preparing, painting and refinishing accident-damaged vehicles to a high standard, with a stable, full-time permanent contract.

You will work Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, in a modern workshop alongside skilled colleagues, using a wide range of bodyshop skills and ongoing training to develop your expertise and advance

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter, Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician or Automotive Paint Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques.
• Experience with colour matching, blending and full/partial vehicle resurfaces.
• Strong preparation skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Multi-skilled bodyshop experience to support wider repair activities.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Comfortable working to deadlines, production targets and agreed repair times.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and panels for paint, including sanding, masking, priming and preparation.
• Mix and apply modern automotive paint systems to the required specifications.
• Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching, blending and refinishing.
• Complete polishing and finishing work to achieve a high-quality factory-style finish.
• Undertake multi-skilled bodyshop duties to support efficient vehicle repair.
• Inspect completed repairs and rectify any imperfections where necessary.
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians and Workshop Controllers.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, quality standards and Health & Safety procedures.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced Multi-Skilled Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, painting and refinishing accident-damaged vehicles to a consistently high standard. The role will suit a technically capable Paint Technician who can utilise a broad range of bodyshop skills while maintaining excellent quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicles and panels for paint, including sanding, masking, priming and preparation
• Mix and apply modern automotive paint systems to the required specifications
• Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching, blending and refinishing

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and quality-focused Multi-Skilled Painter who takes pride in producing exceptional finishes and consistently delivering first-class workmanship.

• Proven experience as a Painter, Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician or Automotive Paint Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques
• Experience with colour matching, blending and full/partial vehicle resprays
• Strong preparation skills with excellent attention to detail
• Multi-skilled bodyshop experience with the ability to support wider repair activities
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
• Comfortable working to deadlines, production targets and agreed repair times
• Strong team player with a professional and positive attitude
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous but not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
