Job description
Overview

To provide and assist with the nursing care of unwell children in their homes and/or place of care to reduce or avoid emergency admission to an acute setting.

As a hospital at home you will be responsible for delivering acute nursing care to patients within the home setting. You will be responsible for accepting referrals, reviewing patients, liaising with the local inpatient units, delivering treatment, completing all tasks associated with the role. You will also be expected to be a car driver and travel to boroughs such as Islington, Camden and South Barnet. NHS trust cars will be allocated; you may need to drive your own car when required. Mileage claims will be supported.

Safeguarding

To comply with the Trust's Safeguarding Children and Adults policies, procedures and protocols. All staff have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This will require you to:

  • Ensure you are familiar with and comply with the London Child Protection Procedures and protocols for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ensure you are familiar and comply with the London Multi Agency Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Pan London Procedures.
  • Ensure you are familiar with local protocols and systems for information sharing.
  • Know the appropriate contact numbers and required reporting lines.
  • Participate in required training and supervision.
  • Comply with required professional boundaries and codes of conduct.

The service provides nursing care and support to children and young people at home as an alternative to hospital admission or to reduce length of stay in hospital. We are looking for someone who can work flexible hours and weekends, has good work ethic, is a team player, and can work independently with multiple trusts. Car drivers are essential. As a team, we will support all learning and development.
